1. BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
In 2004, the Aweilian Youths held a conference in Syracuse, New York and formed the Interim Executive Committee of Aweil Youths Association (AYA) in USA. The youths who were attended the conference have called the lack of high schools in Northern Bahr El Ghazal (Mading-Aweil) as a biggest problem in which they believe it may block the future of Aweilian children.
In fact, school is the place where students may acquire their education, skills and develop knowledge, deep understanding of ethical principles, moral values, respect for self and others, responsibility, integrity, and self-discipline. If school is a most important institution in which students may acquire education and education itself is the knowledge and skills, in which we are now lacking in Aweil; then the Aweilian youths have right to believe that education is the most important tool in the modern world in which Northern Bahr El Ghazal state (Mading-Aweil) has lacked because of lack of high schools. Therefore, education may be the priority in which the Aweilian people should invest their children on it for the social purpose, intellectual purpose, economic purpose, and political & civic purpose. However, the lack of schools such as high schools in which students may acquire their basic knowledge, skills and retain it as their transferable knowledge to high education is what Aweilian Youths call it as a biggest problem which tries to block the future of Aweilian children.
The Aweilian youths passed proposal of Nyamlell High School Project in Syracuse, New York
USA on July 4th, 2004. This project, its cost was estimated for a total amount of $ 30,000 (thirty, thousand) and this amount of money shall be collected from Aweilian people.
The majority of Aweilian youths who were in conference agreed that one Aweilian citizen shall contribute a minimum of $ 100 or more than minimum in order to complete the total amount of $ 30,000 (thirty, thousand). However, that goal achievement is still a long way to go. However, the Interim Executive Community has still urged Aweilian people especial Aweilian youths to keep their promises and actually continue to contribute more than minimum to complete the Nyamlell High School Project with the new executive office of (AYA) in USA...
